Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 cup sweetened condensed milk

  • 2 squares (1 ounce each ) unsweetened baking chocolate

  • 2 tsp. instant coffee powder

  • 1 pkg. (17.3 ounces) Pepperidge Farm® Puff Pastry Sheets (2 sheets), thawed

  • 40 miniature marshmallows (about 1/2 cup packed)

  • 2 tbsp. confectioners' sugar

Directions

  1. Heat the oven to 400°F.

  2. Stir the condensed milk, chocolate and coffee in a 2-quart saucepan. Heat over medium heat until the chocolate melts, stirring occasionally. Cool the mixture to room temperature.

  3. Unfold the pastry sheets on a lightly floured surface. Roll each sheet into a 12-inch square and cut each into 4 (6-inch) squares, making 8 squares in all. Place about 2 tablespoons chocolate mixture in the center of each square. Top each with 5 marshmallows. Brush the edges of the squares with water. Bring the corners of each square to the center on top of the filling. Twist tightly to seal, fanning out the corners. Place the pastries on baking sheets.

  4. Bake the pastries for 20 minutes or until they're golden brown. Let the pastries cool and sprinkle with confectioners' sugar.

Tip

If any cracks form while you’re working with Puff Pastry, just rub with a little water and press to seal the dough together.

You can brush an egg-wash glaze (1 egg plus 1 tsp. water) over the Puff Pastry to create a rich, golden sheen when baked.

Make sure the edges of your Puff Pastry are cut—a folded edge will not rise and puff.

To seal stuffed Puff Pastries, pinch the edges together or press with the tines of a fork, just as you’d seal a piecrust.

"This was so good and so easy!!! Great for kids and kid parties or even adult parties. My guests loved them. It finished the meal with lots of fun. I used unsweetened chocolate powder in place of the instant coffee. I just wanted an all chocolate flavor, and it worked out fine."
